Experience Description

This workshop equips professionals with the knowledge and tools to create equitable, safe, and inclusive workplace environments that prioritize neurodivergent wellbeing.

Participants will learn to identify workplace trauma risks, including sensory, psychosocial, and cognitive hazards, that disproportionately impact neurodivergent individuals. They will explore trauma-aware approaches and neurodiversity affirming principles to minimize these risks and foster psychological and nervous system safety. 

Through scenario-based activities, simulations, and collaborative exercises, participants will co-create personalized and organizational safety measures while integrating empathetic and neurodiversity affirming communication techniques into their workplace interactions.

Learning Outcomes

You will be able to...
  • Integrate neurodiversity affirming principles into trauma-aware workplace practices to create equitable and psychologically safe environments.
  • Identify sensory, psychosocial, and cognitive traumatization risks in workplace environments that disproportionately impact neurodivergent individuals.
  • Develop and implement trauma-informed strategies to minimize workplace risks and foster neurodivergent wellbeing.
    Collaborate with individuals to co-create personalized safety measures and organizational policies and practices.
  • Evaluate workplace practices and policies for trauma-related and neuro-normative biases and propose inclusive improvements.
  • Demonstrate empathetic and neurodiversity affirming communication skills to navigate trauma-sensitive discussions and foster trust.
